About the Wine Makers

cazes wine

Maison Cazes – A legacy of skills and experiences

Have you ever tasted wines that are over 100 years old, that’s still vibrant, full of life,
complex and fascinating? Meet Emmanuel Cazes, “The Harry Potter” of the wine scene in France and his amazing family history. Maison Cazes was founded in 1895 and has since the very beginning been known as the standard-bearer
of winemaking in the Roussillon region. Skilled and dedicated men and women perpetually strive for excellence – a perfect masterpiece of a wine, a wine which
reflects their favorite terroir. And the perpetually strive has been well rewarded. Maison Cazes has received over 400 medals since 1960 and Decanter stated; “The most exciting wines we’ve tasted this year”. The most rewarded wines from Maison Cazes is their Vins Doux Naturels (A naturally sweet wine). It’s an extraordinary masterpiece of vinification using the “mutage” technique and aging in an oxidative
environment. The best wines aging in barrels for more than 20 years and beyond in bottle. The extensive aging gives the wine a very distinct character; a bit oxidized,
nutty aromatic and heavenly sweet – but balanced. The food and – wine pairings are endless, and it’s not by coincidence why these wines are served at some of the
world’s finest restaurants, such as Jean Georges. Participate in a very emotional wine tasting hosted by Emmanuel, where he shares his family legacy and
the philosophy behind Frances largest organic and biodynamic vineyards. And of course…the wines. And with endless possibilities for food and wine pairings
– experience the exciting and fascinating wines in unique combinations at the Winemaker’s Dinner. SeaDream is offering a wine-by-the-glass pairing package for an additional cost for the Winemaker’s Dinner.

pascal jolivet

Pascal Jolivet – the freshness and precision of the
Loire Valley

The house of Pascal Jolivet was founded in 1987 and is one of the
most dynamic domains in the Loire Valley – the home of Sancerre and
Pouilly – Fumé. The family of Pascal Jolivet entered the wine world already
in 1926, then as wine merchants, continuing to establish “Les Grands Vins du Val de Loire” – a negociant house. Pascal’s career started at Maison Pommery Champagne – a maison that has inspired him in the development of the state-of-the-art winery that was built in 1990. Over the years, the uniqueness of Jolivet wines is due
to constant attention to detail. A style recognizable as very pure and elegant. Pascal Jolivet is a firm believer in natural winemaking combined with modern technology.
The philosophy of the state is to let nature take its course as much as possible. The result is wines with an amazing freshness, precision and elegance. The Sancerre wine is extremely pure and refined with a highly praised, subtle character. The sibling Pouilly – Fumé is full-bodied and rich in character. Wines highly acclaimed
by the worlds most influenced writers. Experience firsthand these vibrant wines and their equal vibrant creator onboard your SeaDream Yacht at a complimentary wine tasting. Fresh and lingering Sauvignon Blanc and the Mediterranean ocean is a match
made in heaven. The precision and the elegance of the wines will be beautifully paired with a decadent menu from SeaDream’s Executive Chef, an evening known as the
Winemaker’s Dinner. SeaDream is offering a wine-by-the glass pairing package for this Winemaker’s Dinner.

About the Wine Voyage Activities

Taste and Traditions of Montenegro

Experience the stunning scenery, the cultures and traditions of Montenegro. When arriving the alluring Lustica Peninsula, known for its ancient olive groves,
stone fishing villages, secret hideaways and golden, sandy beaches we will visit one of these ancient olive groves that has been tended by the Moric family for centuries. The Moric Family will share their knowledge of olive cultivation and of course a proper olive oil tasting followed by a diversity of homemade food and local wine to complement. A beautiful day in the very picturesque villages of Montenegro.

Visit to Benanti, Mt. Etna

The Benanti family estate was founded in the late 1800’s, but it was Dr. Giuseppe Benanti who (following a lustrous career building one of Italy’s largest pharmaceutical companies) put the estate on track to make internationally recognized wines. Today, Giuseppe works alongside his sons, twin brothers Salvino and Antonio Benanti. At the foot of Mt. Etna, the Benanti family makes wonderful wines from traditional Sicilian grape varieties such as Nerello Mascalese, Carricante and Nerello Cappuccino. Elegance, structure and charm defines both the wine and the family running this estate. The brothers will guide SeaDream guests through the vineyard and will conclude the visit with a tasting of their top wines accompanied by local cheeses, salami and fresh baked bread. A stunning fine wine experiences at the slopes of Mt. Etna.
